Credentialing & Training
From the moment our caregivers are hired, they participate in an extensive training program, and training continues throughout their tenure with continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Lifeline Homecare’s education and training programs help provide each caregiver with the skills they need to provide the best in quality non-medical home care for our clients. We understand that caregiver education and training is a cornerstone of ensuring that the best care is given to our clients.
Examples of training topics include:
- Improving Communication
- Planning Daily Activities for the Care Recipient
- Recognizing Illnesses and Depression
- Safety in the Home
- Preparing and Planning Nutritious Meals
Caregivers also receive ongoing training on how to care for patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease so that they are equipped with the most up-to-date information when caring for your loved ones. Our training sessions focus on understanding the disease, caregiver-patient communication skills, and creating a positive environment. Our caregivers learn to facilitate compassionate communication and social connections using the person-centered care approach.
In addition to live, on-site training opportunities, Lifeline Homecare provides an online, on-demand library of resources and materials that provides supplemental education and professional development for caregivers. Lifeline Homecare also conducts peer-to-peer regional meetings that allows caregivers to learn from other caregiving professionals.
Lifeline ensures that all caregivers are trained utilizing standard operating procedures issued by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Department of Aging and Independent Living (DAIL). Further, Lifeline Homecare greatly exceeds the minimum training requirements established by the State of Kentucky, Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Office of the Inspector General (OIG) for personal services agencies.
